Well

I should have things to say.

I should have much to say.

But I really don’t.

Once again, I’ve opened the screen and can’t think of anything to impart. My mojo’s still gone. I have nothing to say, and this is something coming from a chick with a not-undeserved reputation for veering towards verbose.

I had a nice holiday in Cornwall (photos can be viewed here), complete with Alastair buying me an artwork that I fell madly and completely in love with.

My new baby

But I just don’t have any energy at all.

Things are ok, though. Don’t get me wrong. I managed to not gain any weight while on holiday (no mean feat) but then again I didn’t lost any, either. I’ve been battling a kidney problem for several weeks now – a hardcore kidney infection is now gone but an underlying kidney problem remains, and so it’s back for more tests now.

Work has exploded all over the place, to the extent now where I can see some evening working in my future. Melissa and Jeff are still here, and Melissa goes home on Thursday while Jeff’s here for two more weeks. I am exceptionally fond of both of them.

But I open the page to write up a post, and I can’t come up with anything. I can’t think of what to say, and I can’t grab any thoughts long enough to pin their asses down to the post template. Seeing as this week is mad anyway, I think I’ll just close it back down again and take another week off. I know that I’m likely rapidly losing readers but if I have nothing I feel I can get out then it doesn’t benefit any of us for me to try to force it.

I’ll be back as soon as the mojo ship sales back in. Hopefully you’re still here.

In the meantime, I give you a taste of my holiday:

Once more, with babies.

-S.

You don’t owe anybody out here anything. Rest, enjoy the break-:)

  • I had the opposite problem after my vacation. I had way too much to say, and when I finally got my thoughts organized enough to post them, it turned into a four page post. And that was after quite a bit of editing. And it wasn’t exactly one of those simple “what I did on my vacation” posts, either.

Okay, enough about me. Glad to hear your vacation went well, and was enjoyed by the whole family. The rest of us will wait patiently for you to post when you feel like posting, so don’t feel you owe us anything. Just take care of yourself, your work, Alastair, and the kids. Especially the kids. I mean it. And I know we’ll be hearing from you again soon.

Hey Helen (I mean Shannon…old habits die hard),

I think you’ve had guest bloggers before; that might be fun until you feel like posting. And if someone else wrote an “article”, you could even interject your own comments to give it the Helen (I mean Shannon) touch or feel. But like most who visit here, I’m patient and will gladly wait until the mojo comes back.

  • Happens to all of us. Just this morning I had an interesting learning experience that prompted me to open up word and start putting it down with every intention of sharing it. However, after -re-reading the first few lines, I decided that it wasn’t all that important. The experience stayed with me – but the wanting to document and share it – not so much.

  • For not having anything to say, you said plenty! The pics are great, and I love that artwork too. I like the colors.

You can’t scare me off that easy. I enjoyed looking at your pictures. Maybe we should all just talk amongst ourselves until you feel like posting. ;) So…. how was everyone’s weekend? Anyone celebrating anything? Need to vent? Haha. (Sorry, if this is out of line feel free to delete me. I’m running on little sleep and a bit disoriented this morning.)

So glad you and yours had a good vacation. The first week back always seems to be (extra) crazy, so enjoy the big kids while they’re there, the little kids and Alastair as always and we’ll be here when you check in. Thanks for the great pictures too. Take care.

It’s okay, we’ll just keep hitting this link like crack monkeys to see if you’ve updated, you won’t lose any of us……!

  • Always here. Not going anywhere…see you in a week or so.

BTW going reverse of you. From very public to semi-anonymous, too many issues.

  • The holiday looks lovely – great photos.

  • I hear ya. I lost my mojo recently, and only got it back this past weekend. Yours will return with a vengeance, I’ve no doubt. In the meantime, drink bubbly. Celebrate something- anything. Something silly and fun. Shoot the cork as high as it will go. Sounds stupid, but it works :)

Love the artwork, hope the kidney problem isn’t too serious and you can be feeling better soon, and enjoy your break-lord knows you deserve it!

Whenever you’re ready to write, I’ll be ready to read. You’re worth waiting for, no matter how long the wait. Love ya.

It happens. And I do believe most if not all of us will still be here when you get the mojo back.

Honey you could post one line once a year and I’d still be here! :-) Take care of yourself! xx

  • Love the artwork, the photos and you. I’ll be here when you decide to come back.

  • Kat

    Patiently waiting for you. :-)

That dress you are wearing is so cute. Where did you find it?

It’s a good holiday when you get to wind down, enjoy the moment while it lasts.
