Potential Changes
Almost exactly two years ago today (15 June 2007) Mumin died.

It’s taken a really long time to get past losing her. She was a love. She was Gorby’s patrolling buddy. She was my cat, the happy cat, the frankly fairly stupid cat. We’re left with Maggie, aka The Angry Whore (I love her. But yes-she is an angry whore).
This morning I logged into work emails and there was the usual work email that comes in the form of a bulletin board.
I checked it.
I lost my heart to someone on that board.
That little someone is someone that Jeff and I are arranging to go meet later to see if they want to come home with us (and hopefully no one has beat us to it!)

-S.
UPDATE – kitten’s ours if we like each other! Pickup at 2100 tonight. *swoons*

Looks like belongs to you or the other way around. Name?
I just lost my heart.
I think the kitten just found itself a human.
oh, how sweet! we are adopting a new kitten this weekend as well, much to the chagrin of my dog-loving husband, even though he sectretly loves the cat we already have.
She is a beautiful kitten!
I remember the day that Mumin died, I was heartbroken for you. It seems so strange that I’ve been reading you for so long…
I remember when you lost Mumin (bless her) I love my bobby so much I cant bear the thought of being without him. I love him too much … I know I do cos my psychiatrist told me so.
That kitten, that kitten is gorgeous!! Hope that the wee one turns out to be your kitten.
M xx
What a sweet-looking kitty – and I am not even a cat person!! His/her little face reminds me of Phantom of the Opera :0)
she can be the Phantom of your Heart! What a fun thing for you and Jeff to share. Our new family members find us in the most interesting ways, don’t they?
Awwww!
I still haven’t really gotten over losing Bel. It’s a lot easier now than it first was, but even typing this, my eyes are watering.
::: pause :::
I think Nina would have liked Mumin. Or thought she was Mumin. (Nina looks a lot like her and they seem to have a similar personality.) I know Bel would like Mummers–Bel warmed to every cat that let him. Maybe they’re chasing critters and rolling around in catnip fields right now?
::: dammit. :::
As for the kitten…. I melted. Kittens can still melt me, even though I already have 9965 cats and will never get laid again. I love his/her ceiling/basement face.
Oh my goodness that is one adorable cat. Awwww!!
So sweet! I’ve really been wanting to get another pet lately. Kitten or another dog, but Jake would kill me.
Can’t wait to hear the details!
Two years is just like yesterday when it is a special pet. My sweet Chuck has been gone five years and it still stings like mad.
I can see why your heart was stolen. What a face!!! Can’t wait to hear the name.
That cat is beautiful, and if it was mine I’d name it Phantom like the above person mentioned! Wow, what a face.
Well, goodness. With your commenting system it is as the “below” person mentioned. ;)
Awww – Gorby Jr.
I want to cuddle and hug and love him/her/it for ever and ever.
We took awhile in naming my preeeecioooous (Zoi) and it was a revelation moment on my part that occurred, as they always do, in the bathroom. I genuinely recommend waiting a few days and getting to know him before naming him. And don’t name him after a cartoon character – I made that mistake with my two boys and they ended up developing personalities eerily similar to their namesakes. Their annoying namesakes. But yeah, Phantom is pretty perfect. Or Luna if it’s a girl, since the markings look like half-moons.
She’s precious! I hope you and Jeff get to take her home!
Hilarity ensues! I can’t wait, between two babies, a cat, a dog, and now a kitten, lol, this is gonna be big fun!
Awh… she’s precious. I bet Jeff already has some ideas for a name.
Awwwww…. someday we’ll have another cat… I know our boys would love one!
OMG that kitty is adorable! Love the straight line dividing her face up!
She is beautiful!! The line on her nose is precious. Whatever will you call her?
If it’s a boy, name him Zorro. The markings for a reverse Z.
That noise you just heard was my heart melting!! Mikey and I have decided it’s time to get a new “baby” too – despite being and over 6 foot tall ex-copper he’s really a big sook and finds it so hard not to have little paws dashing around the house (the fact he is such a softy with children, pets and the elderly is part of the reason I fell in love with him all those years ago!).
Can’t wait to hear the name and Maggie’s reaction. xx
What a cute kitty.
Well, duh, Nick and Nora and their little cat “Asta”
In the movies Asta was a dog, but whatever!
That is such an adorable kitten – I want it! I love the face! I am so, so jealous :-( But happy that you have found another cat :-)
